Royal Caribbean Cruises - Disney Cruises - All Inclusive Travel Packages and More
Less than a month after its July 20 announce to expand into yachts, air tours and river cruises, and launch three new 1,000 passenger ships, unveiled details of its two new river cruise ships,
These two new vessels, set to sail in Europe starting in March 2017, will feature 70 cabins (140 passengers double occupancy) and a yacht-like design. They will come with 250-square-foot standard suites and two 500-square-foot penthouses. Both vessels will be built by Lloyd Werft shipyard in Germany.
"We continue to listen to what our guests and the luxury traveler want, and river cruises are what they've been telling us they want for some time," said Edie Rodriquez, Crystal's president and CEO. "But more importantly they want to experience river cruises on a luxury Crystal vessel, and their desires will be fulfilled on our luxury Crystal river yachts."
Standard suites will feature walk-in wardrobes, American king-size beds and bathrooms with double vanities. Large public areas will include the Palm Court with a dance floor and glass-domed roof, as well as a fitness center and spa.
Itineraries are still being finalized but destinations will include France, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria. Ships will also sail during daytime hours so cruisers can enjoy the river scenery. There will also be scheduled overnight ports so they can experience included culinary experiences at Michelin-star restaurants and local eateries, as well as exclusive evening events and entertainment.
In addition, Crystal will offer immersive Crystal Adventures, as well as a new shoreside program called Active Exploration Adventures. These are high-intensity, active, complimentary programs to help guests stay fit during vacation. In addition, guests can use bicycles (electric and manual), Segways and other active gear to explore on their own. A luxury yacht tender will be available for private yachting experiences to more secluded adventures.
Itineraries, fares and bookings for Crystal River Cruises will be available on Dec. 1, 2015.
